Teaching Someone Instead…

Has the Lord ever made you teach and train someone else for a job or opportunity that you yourself wanted? This happened to Moses. No matter how much he pleaded, The Lord had decided he would not set foot on the promised land. Instead, he instructed him to teach and on top of that—encourage Joshua instead.

But before we judge too quickly, Moses prayed, prayed, and prayed …and the Lord allowed him to see a glimpse of the land He promised the children of Israel.

In the same way, David wanted to build a temple to honor the Lord’s name. But the Lord instructed him to teach his son Solomon instead. David prayed, and the Lord allowed him to start the preparation for the building, but he had to teach his son Solomon instead.

May we be encouraged today knowing that the Lord hears and answers our prayers in His way; in His time

But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see. (Deuteronomy 3:28)

We Forgot to Pray!

My grandson RJ awoke with a start and with a loud outburst panicked “We Forgot to Pray!” I replied with a big grin “so let’s do it now.” To which he replied, “no, it’s not night, night.”

Caused me to think of how often I ‘forget to pray’ and when the spirit urges me, I postpone it for the ‘right’ time. With God, any prayer time is always the right time. What about now?

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18)

I Didn’t Know What Else To Do…

I didn’t know what else to do. So I prayed with everyone.

That was the comment from an eye witness to a tragic accident when 2 teens who were about to graduate lost their lives while driving home late one night. 5 minutes away from home tragedy occurred.

She didn’t know what to do to help comfort the survivors driving behind in another car, so she ‘resorted’ to prayer.

Aren’t we all like that? It’s when we have exhausted all other options then we decide to pray. We have it Skewed. Today let’s give prayer precedence in our lives.

Blessings overflow.

GreenLight: When God Says Go…

GreenLight-v2-3D.png

I’ve always asked God to give me the GREEN LIGHT when I’m driving to work and running late. Whether He does, is not the point. The point is Green Light is like finding out the will of the Lord. We find that out step by step; day by day; walking with Him.

We cannot get green lights before we’re on the road; or before we get to the intersections. At the lights, we are told what to do—Prepare to stop; Stop, or Go.

That’s how it is with God’s will. When we get to life’s intersections (whether it’s decision-making, trials, job or career, business, relationships, or other), He tells us what to do, where to go, and what to say. Abraham did it with his son when he said God will provide the lamb to be slaughtered.

Step by step; day by day; with obedience and faith, you too can know God’s will for your life.

“Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.” (Ecclesiastes9:7)NIV

God’s Firm Support

My 18 month old grandson tried climbing onto the bed holding onto a pillow. It’s no surprise he fell backwards. To be sure of completing his climb, he needed a firm(er) foundation that a pillow could not provide.

How very true for us. How often have we tried to mount the pressures and challenges in life without grasping the firm foundation that only God can provide.

May we remember today to hold onto God’s unchanging hand for support. Only then will we be able to deal with life’s sure surprises.

2 Samuel 22:17-20
‘He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, BUT THE LORD WAS MY SUPPORT. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. (2 Samuel 22:17-20 NIVUK)
