Sitting next to me in church, 10 year old RJ whispered (bible in hand)… “nobody brings their Bible to church anymore”. Then he told me to look around. He was right. I did not even have my Bible in hand as Pastor Darryl read the displayed verses on the screen. Mine was in my bag. RJ proceeded to draw the cartoon comic discussion.
No excuses but the Tech era we are living in, most of us use the #bibleapp as our bible reading resource. Convenience at its core, It’s easy to carry around because we always have it on our phones. It’s also easy to share a verse or two to encourage others who cross our mind while reading.
But at times if there’s no WiFi we can experience connection issues if we didn’t download the App.
The risk though… we may end up scrolling to alerts that pop up… Unless we are very disciplined to avoid distractions. Nevertheless I love the convenience of the App.
But yep! I agree with RJ. Very few actually carry the Bible anymore. But let’s not be quick to judge as we rejoice in the convenience it brings while at work, on the move anytime, anyplace.
Join me in this simple challenge to take the physical book with us to church. Even more-so, let’s read our bible and pray everyday.
Blessings overflow to you as you listen while he speaks through the word. It ignites.

I can only imagine what Saul went through when he was struck blind. Just imagine… a healthy person with a good job going about his business. A hard worker. Diligent in all that he did. Dedicated to persecuting Christians who speak about the lord. Then just like that … in a moment, as in a flash …he was blinded.
I can only imagine the hell he went through. Call 911! Would he ever seee again? Gotta get to the hospital. Where oh where is the doctor? He couldn’t see. He was frantic. So far away from home. Traveling. Who could he rely on to come get him? Moreover, would it not take days for them to get to him? How could he live with this shame? This sudden disability? Without warning, he was blinded.
While Paul worried, he also prayed. A strange new thing for him. But he had no choice but to call out to that voice he heard while on the road.
God sent a man. That man was Ananias. He too was afraid because of what Saul the persecutor of Christians represented. It was a risk. But he obeyed and went. God, the almighty took care of the fear of both Saul and Ananias. Saul believed and was healed. In a moment, his sight returned. Suddenly after days of hell, his mission changed. With a renewed sense of purpose he promised to suffer for Christ’s sake.
“Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.” Acts 9:15-16
Today, if you’re afraid of what’s happening all around you, bask in the knowledge that God always has a plan for what you and I are going through. It’s hard. When you’re going through difficulties whether or not you caused it, talk to him. He will see you through. Always. Just trust him.
Saul, the persecutor. Saul the pursuer, became Paul, the pursued. Indeed God has a sense of humor.
Trust him.
Blessings overflow.

Time for me
Time for me Holy Spirit
Time for me praise His name
Time to hear your Spirit’s leading
Time to read your holy word
Time to bask in your presence
Time to seek your holy decadence
Time to praise the one above
Time to sing hallelujah
Time to shout your Spirit’s name
Time. Oh time for me
Time to hide in your loving arms
Time to seek your spirits leading
Time. Oh time for me to be with you

When all seems hopeless
My friend and her hubby deal with fatalities everyday. She shared an incident of a woman whose car was severely damaged when it crashed into a Guard rail. The woman reported that she was trying to commit Suicide. She survived.
On the other hand my friend’s hubby who is in law enforcement shared reports about a man who after investigation, authorities discovered it was attempted Suicide. He succumbed to his injuries and died.
A Pastor in his message recently shared statistics of the number of police officers who have committed suicide since 2019, in New York. An unbelievable rate of 24% as at mid-year.
I share this to ask prayers for those who SMILE or laugh out loud with us outwardly but deep down inside are hurting or depressed due to finances, job loss, relationships, or for one reason or another. Comedian Robin Williams is an example. Anthony Bourdain, celebrity author and travel documentarian is another. Not to mention the silent ones who go crazy with mass shootings of the innocent. All suicides. Sad indeed.
WebMD shared these Behavioral warning signs. Read their complete article for further details.
If you are among the depressed, please seek help. Using wisdom, if you recognize the signs in a Friend, relative, or co-worker, don’t wait. Do something. Get the person the professional help they need. Usually they can’t think clearly.
And while you’re doing all of the above Pray. Pray, and pray even more. Prayer changes things. There’s no doubt about that.
Let’s together do what we can in our small corner. But above all, Keep the Faith.
For God has not given us a spirit of Fear but of Power, Love and a sound mind.

The Lord has a 360 degree view of your life. He can see the past. He can see the present and he can see the future.
So when he gives you the quiet nudge to go… obey. Follow him. Hard as it may be, you won’t regret it.

My safe place is with you
My safe place is with you Lord
When I’m with you I know all will be well
But though my human heart cries out in pain
Showering the agony & pangs of defeat
I’ll cry out to you because you’re the God that brings comfort
You bring peace
You bring solace
My safe place is with you Lord
My safe place is with you

I see walls
I see walls on every side of me.
Dark walls.
Brick walls.
Walls that seem to be made out of steel and the toughest stone.
I can’t see my way through.
I’m overwhelmed
But then I am comforted in the knowledge that you can see for me.
As I hold onto you,
You embrace me Lord and hold me firm,
You comfort with the words,
All will be well
Everything is going to be alright.
But Still my heart longs for those days when I don’t have to worry.
Lord, you are in control and I long for quiet peace.
A peace that passes all understanding.
Unto you I lift up my praise.
My heart yearns for you in a dry and thirsty land.
For with Christ in the vessel I know I can smile at the storm

Though I walk through the valley, I will fear no evil for you are with me
Today, Take courage, the Lord’s got you.

All things are working for our good
We give you thanks for all you’ve done
Lord, thank you for all that is happening in our lives right now.
And for that we thank you.
